Zebrafish (Danio rerio) is a small fish whose biological characteristics make it an appropriate model for various uses in biology.
It is easy to raise and breed even in a small facility. Its high fertility, the external development of the embryos and their transparency make the observation of all developping organs possible. Larvae small size allows raising in 96 well plates.
These properties allow fast new compounds, toxicity and chemical mutations screening, and genetic studies as well.
